Supporting the arts is very near and dear to ERS’ core.  It serves the dual purpose of providing an attractive and creative atmosphere in ERS’ offices and conference rooms and also helping local artists showcase their art.

Early on, ERS would take clients and staff to different events and tours of local museums to break away from the sometimes “stuffy” world of court reporting.  At one of these outings, an artist was talking about how there was nowhere to showcase their art in the down times between festivals and shows.  A light bulb went off.  This could be a win/win situation.  ERS would showcase the art and welcome the artists to come in and change out their art as they pleased and also talk with interested clients.  And, to make it even more attractive, ERS offered to do this and NOT charge a commission fee for any pieces that sold (it is common for most venues that offer artists wall space to charge a small fee of any pieces sold). This program has really taken off and ERS’ offices are decorated with many artists’ work at all times!

January Art Focus:

Heather Rippert

Heather Rippert loves the beach… the peace and serenity act as a constant reminder of the experience of being alive.  It fills Heather’s spirit and inspires her to paint “visual poetry” for all to embrace.  Her medium is watercolor and her favored subject is the sand and sea.  It’s no secret why we started our artist series with a profile of Heather Ripperts work – we are physically surrounded by the sand and sea that she so loves to portray in her art.

While studying for her BFA at the Maryland Institute, College of Art, Heather was chosen to take part in a student study program at Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland.  This coupled with her earlier trip to the Yucatan reinforced her love of landscapes and the ocean.
